As temperatures in Toronto drop, it’s easy to want to stay hibernated all winter long. We put together a list of activities that you can do with the whole family to enjoy the winter with the best outdoor winter activities.
Go Skating
This year there are even more skating paths than ever! Plus, the temperature isn’t too cold so you can enjoy the outdoors. Trying visiting the new skating path at The Bentway under the Gardiner, the classic spot at Nathan Phillips Square, the natural rink at Grenadier Pond in High Park, and DJ night skates at Harbourfront.

Outdoor Art
The Winter Stations is an international design competition that brings temporary public art installations to The Beaches. Each year new designs are released and showcased at Woodbine Beach. This year the art exhibition theme is ‘Migration’ and runs from February 18th – April 1st.
Ice Sculptures
This year, check out the 13th annual Bloor-Yorkville Icefest from February 9-10th. Come and watch as giant blocks of ice get transformed into beautiful pieces of art. The carving starts at noon and there’s fun treats for the kids including a sweet treat at the “Maple Taffy Station” and “Ice Kiddie Cubes” with a surprise toy inside.

Head to Ontario Place
Check out the winter fun from November 23-March 17th at Ontario Place! See the Winter Light Exhibit, roast marshmallows and s’mores, go skating and watch a movie at the Cinesphere.
Go Tobogganing
Riverdale Park East is home to one of the best hills in Toronto to go Tobogganing. This 18-hectare park off of Broadview Avenue is one of the most popular winter tobogganing hills plus it has the most stunning view of the downtown Toronto skyline.
